VIT University conducts engineering entrance exam for admission to its B.Tech programs with specializations in Biotech, Bioinfo, Biomed, Civil, CSE, ECE, EEE, EIE, IT, Mech, Mech (Energy), Mech (Chemical), Mech (Auto), Production & IE offered at Vellore and Chennai campuses. There are around 5000 engineering seats for which around two lakh candidates register and appear every year.
VITEEE 2018 Important Dates
- Start of Applications: 1 November, 2017
- Last Date to Apply: 28 February, 2018
- Computer Based Test: 4 to 15 April, 2018
- Declaration of Results: April, 2018
The exam is conducted in three sessions: Session I: 9 am to 11:30 am, Session II: 12:30 pm to 3 pm, and Session III: 4 pm to 6:30 pm
You should have passed Class 10+2/intermediate with 60% marks (50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories) in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology. Candidates, who have studied in regular, full time and formal education are alone eligible to apply.
Questions are of Objective Type. VITEEE consists of three parts - Part-I: Physics; Part-II: Chemistry ; Part-III: Mathematics or Biology. Each part has 40 questions and each question carries one mark. Each question is followed by 4 alternative answers. There is no negative marks for wrong answers. The duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
If you attempt Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, then you are eligible for all the 13 programs offered. If you attempt Physics, Chemistry & Biology, then you are eligible for Bioinformatics, Bio-Medical Engineering and Biotechnology programs only. The selection of pattern (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics or Biology) has to be decided at the time of slot booking.
