HPCET - Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh Technical University conducts HPCET in offline mode in the second week of May. Admissions to the participating institutes are offered on the basis of HPCET and JEE Main scores. Those candidates who have qualified JEE Main are eligible for direct admissions.

The HPCET is conducted in offline mode in English. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. There are total of 150 questions divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each section has 50 questions.

Admissions to B.Tech programmes in the participating institutes in Himachal Pradesh are done through JEE Main and HPCET. You must have passed 10+2/XII or equivalent exam from a recognised board or university. General category candidates should have secured at least 45% marks in aggregate, while reserved category candidates must have obtained at least 40% marks in aggregate in class 12th or equivalent.

The list of cities where the examination is conducted are listed in the exam centres of HPCET. You have to select your preferred exam centre while filling the application form.

Candidates who have qualified the HPCET or JEE Main are eligible to apply for admission in the various undergraduate engineering programmes that are offered at the participating institutes of HPCET. The participating institutes include four government colleges and thirteen private colleges which are affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU).
