The Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GujCET) is conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) for admissions into degree engineering and diploma pharmacy programs in the state. Earlier the admissions were done on the basis of JEE exam. The admissions in state engineering colleges are made giving 60% weightage to class 12 marks and 40% weightage to GujCET marks.

Eligibility Criteria

You should have passed higher secondary certificate examination Science stream conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Gandhinagar or the candidates who have filled in the application form for appearing and eligible for appearing in the examination of higher secondary Science stream (10+2 pattern) /candidates going to appear are eligible to apply.

Also, candidates who have passed Higher Secondary science stream (10+2 pattern) examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi/ Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi through the recognized school situated in the State of Gujarat are also eligible to apply.

Exam Pattern

The question paper contains multiple choice questions (MCQ). Four options are given for a question, out of which one option is correct. The duration of the examination is 180 minutes. There are total 120 questions, 40 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer.
