Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) is conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa for admissions to the engineering courses at the UG Level in Goa. There are a total of 1,292 seats in the engineering colleges of Goa. Candidates qualifying this examination will be given admission in various Government, Government-aided and unaided colleges in Goa offering Bachelor’s Degree courses in the fields of Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: All Indian Nationals can apply. NRI candidates holding Indian Passport can also apply. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) /Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders are also considered eligible to apply.

Age: There is no Age limit for admissions in Engineering courses.

Qualifying Exam: An applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Goa Board or an examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or any other examination, which in scope and standard, is deemed to be equivalent to the H.S.S.C. examination of Goa Board.

Minimum Marks: The minimum marks required in the qualifying examination to take admission in the B.E. courses is minimum 45% and for SC/ST candidates is minimum 40%. The minimum marks required must be the aggregate marks of Physics, Mathematics and anyone from Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology.

Exam Pattern

The exam is based on the syllabus prescribed by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Porvorim for Class 12th covering Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

Each paper consists of 75 questions to be answered in two hours. Each correct answer is of 1 mark. There is no negative marking for wrong or multiple answers.
